Location: 797 6th Ave, Fox Island, WA 98333

The Fox Island Cemetery is located at 797 6th Ave, Fox Island, WA. Many war veterans are buried there, as well as Fox Island's early pioneers, and Washington's Governor Dixy Lee Ray. Burials from private lands and a small cemetery in Sylvan were moved to the current 2 acre site in 1910. In 1911, the cemetery site was donated to the Cemetery Association by Mr. A. Hunter.

Dixy Lee Ray, Governor of the State of Washington, is buried at the Fox Island Cemetery.

Boy Scouts from Fox Island's Boy Scout Troop 27 and Cub Scout Pack 27 perform the Memorial Day flag ceremony honoring our Fox Island veterans each year, and the Cub Scouts lay a memorial wreath at the base of the Centennial Memorial Monument, containing a time capsule, and a listing of the names of wars, including the Indian Wars, Revolutionary Wars, War of 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War.

A reading of the names of Fox Island's veterans, dating back to the civil war, follows the raising of the flag.
